Dillistone Systems Employees Participate In London Triathlon To Raise Money For CharityEmployees of Dillistone Systems participated in this year’s Virgin Active London Triathlon to raise money for charity.

On Saturday 27 July, Alistair Milne, Alex James and Sabir Malik successfully completed the Sprint Team Relay while Alex Day and Laura Drezewski crossed the finish line of the Olympic Team Relay. Proceeds raised will be donated to the Rhys Daniels Trust, which offers ‘Home from Home’ care in the UK for the families of children diagnosed with serious or life threatening illnesses.

Alistair Milne, who organised the company’s participation in the event, said: “Both teams started their training months before the event and did a great job on the day.

“There was a bit more wind for the cyclists and runners than we had hoped for, but the biggest challenge was the heat ¬– thankfully, the heat wave had reduced a little. The mass start of the swim was a little daunting, but both swimmers finished unscathed.

“Everyone in our teams thoroughly enjoyed the day. For some of our contenders, it was their first experience of a triathlon, and despite some initial nerves, the adrenalin soon kicked in. Tough but rewarding would best describe the day.”

Speaking about the event, Alex Day, who completed the Olympic cycle leg, said:  “I experienced a huge sense of relief that I had completed my part of the course and not had any issues, such as punctures or mechanical problems. That relief was soon followed by happiness in the knowledge that I had given it my best performance. After that, I had a feeling of pride to be part of a great team, who all put in 100%.”

It’s not too late to sponsor the teams. To make a donation today, please visit http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/dillistoneSystems.
