The origins: Tim Berwick was studying at university and working part-time at a shoe store prior to working at Voyager Software (the precursor to Ikiru People). Working at Voyager was a breath of fresh air, literally, after working many unforgiving hours with smelly shoes in retail! To him, working in the world of recruitment software was very much an unknown. However, when the offer came through he decided to dive in headfirst.

Over the next few years, Tim was exposed to all facets of the business. He focused on supporting the needs of the company’s clients in the fast-paced world of recruitment software. This included training journeys nationally to customers all around Australia, and abroad to New Zealand, Singapore, and Hong Kong. The acquisition of Voyager Software by Dillistone Group Plc, introduced a new challenge – working with Dillistone Systems’ famous FileFinder software package for the executive search market. This was quickly followed by the acquisition of ISV.Online and the addition of online skills testing and training to the portfolio.

Eventually, an opportunity arose that meant a change of role to becoming Regional Director of the APAC office. Tim now oversees sales, projects, training, and support for the APAC region for all of Ikiru People’s varied software solutions. These include Voyager Infinity, FileFinder Executive Search Software and ISV.Online. Day to day,

Tim can be found:

  • Helping clients get more out of their software package;
  • Organising customer product upgrades or moves to the cloud;
  • Liaising with prospective customers to ensure they have the best solution for their business needs;
  • Managing the team locally in Australia to deliver the best customer experience possible;
  • Speaking with the UK or US teams about developing improvements to our software to meet the growing demands of the market;
  • Working with a great, global team!

Outside of work, much of Tim’s time is spent with his young family and rascally Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He is an avid collector of LEGO (having a toddler has greatly helped to justify the purchases) and a big fan of rugby, football and cricket. He also has a great love of history with a particular interest in classical antiquity. Tim spends his downtime practising coding in Python or messing about with friends in online PC games (no consoles – keyboard/mouse is life).
